POTD#3: Things That Make Your Life Easier

I have a super quesy stomach. Most people do not know this about me, but it's true. And, the one thing I cannot do with success is wash out the compost bucket. People have given me some suggestions--add water before hand and swish it around--stuff like that. The truth is, for me, nothing works. So, thank goodness for the BioBag. It is a compostable bag that you can buy in rolls of 100 at Lee Valley. You just put it in your bucket and take it to your bin every 3 days...no fuss, no muss, no quesy stomach. If you don't compost you won't understand, but this makes my life much easier.

That's really cool and kudos for you on being so green! We don't do enough and I keep saying we'll compost but I haven't made the steps that far. I may try thanks to your post! Thanks!

There's nothing like the smell of the bottom of the compost bucket. Ewwwwy! I have reduced the size of my bucket to a more manageable size. Now I empty it more often, and it doesn't get quite so stinky. I have a pretty strong stomach and once the smell was so bad I gagged! I just let that one sit too long! I'm glad I compost. It just wouldn't feel right to throw away compostables.
