Once a Year Friends

You know how sometimes you have friends from high school and you see them soooo many years later(I won't say how many years) and you think--wow...I can't believe we were friends! Well, we are soooo lucky because all of our 'old' friends from University and High School just keep getting cooler! This couple is no exception. Distance seperates us and so we connect about once a year at Christmas time. Amos and Bob grew up in the same small town, but really connected in university. Now, him and his lovely bride, visit us and we talk politics, religion, world events and all things taboo and instead of being uncomfortable it is stimulating. I LOVE that...we walked away from our visit with all sorts of new books to read and interesting thoughts spinning in our heads.

The best thing about this year's visit was we got to meet their new little guy. And he is soooo sweet! Those cheeks, those eyes...how could I resist? So, this is a huge post because it will take me awhile to get them all done and then send them off to his parents so I wanted to give them an extra large sneak peek ;) And, I know what I said about life being lived in color--it's true, but these photos look GREAT in black and white, so...you get a bit of both!

Isn't he the cutest? And, for all those people who think you have to live in a big fancy house to have indoor photos taken...these were all taken in this little guy's uncle's condo downtown. It was soooo great to see you guys again(and the extended clan-grandma and uncles whom we love as well). I hope you do move closer to home so we can see you more often! Happy New Year to everyone!
