My Grandma

Look at me! I'm a blogging fool these days ;) This is another post for my mom...and, for me, but in a way, all of my posts are for me! To everyone who says that they are loyal blog readers and are getting offended that I assume my mom is the loyalest of all--I have only this to say: Leave me a comment!!! You, too, Mom...sometimes I feel like I am blogging all by myself...

So, on to the photos...we were blessed with a visit from my Great Aunt Dorothy who was out west for the holidays. I have only met her a handful of times in my life due to distance, but, for a long time, my beloved Grandmother lived with my mom. She spoke of her often, so I feel like I know her better than I should. Sitting down to tea with her reminded me so much of Grandma. She died three years ago on my birthday. When she passed, I gave her eulogy and had a...ahem...tough time doing so. My mother's dear friend and great mind, Cheryl, told me that I would be happy one day to have that bond with her. And, she's right. My grandmother lived a wonderful life...and a long one. Now, when I think of her I am filled with joy. And, when I saw Aunt Dorothy's arms with her little gold watch...all I could think of was my Grandma's hands. They were so similar. There was an empty chair at tea...I think we know who was in it.

This is my mom(isn't she cute?) and her Aunt(she's pretty cute, too)...

And, this last photo is one of the last pictures I took of my Grandma. It was right after Georgia was born and we went to visit her. It was our second last visit. It was also BP before photography grabbed hold of my life. It's funny because sometimes those perfect pictures are not always the ones that are dearest to us. I think it's because life is imperfect.

Like I said...this post is a little bit for my mom and a little bit for me....
