Kids Have the Best Ideas

Seriously, they do. So, today after I got home from a very cold shoot which you'll see some of later, I was eager to take my kids out and get some cute 'toque' shots. A weird thing children's photographers do is they collect hats. It's true. I write them off! I have a bunch of them. And, a while ago now, when I was in H&M looking for jeans for my son, I found the most beautiful little girl hats. I have been patiently waiting for a good snow day to capture these babies in action. Today was going to be such a day. We got Georgia all suited up and ready to go outside. Then, Jack came downstairs wearing his swim goggles. It went something like this:

What do you have on?
My goggles.
Why?
Protection.
I want my goggles!

So, they both went outside wearing their swim goggles. Not quite the 'portfolio' shots I was looking for, but they crack me up! And, they capture my kids being kids...Just when you think you've got them under control, they remind you that you really never do!

I have to say that now that Jack is 5 he has changed a tonne. He stepped outside and yelled at his dad to "Bring it on!" and kept saying "oh ya!" I was thinking when did he grow up? And, do we talk like that because I don't think we do...so on with the goggles(as I type this I just realized that I saved all the files under the name 'googles'...hmmm)

I love that you can see the snowball flying past her...

And, hiding behind the only tree in our front yard...hmmm...

And, this last picture is one that Bob took of me and Georgia right before we went outside. Bob thought he messed it up. I disagree. I love it! And, it is one of only 20 or so photos of me this entire year. Sometimes I wonder if I exist at all ;)

Soon some sneak peeks...I promise!
